This policy explains what personal data the greekserbian.com website collects, why we use it and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Greek law.

What data we collect

We collect personal data only through the website’s forms: the contact form, the expression of interest form and the membership application. Depending on the form, we ask for:

  • your full name, e-mail address and telephone number
  • your company or organisation, position and sector of activity
  • your country and the subject you are interested in
  • your message
  • for the membership application, in addition: VAT number, address, postcode, city, website, legal form and turnover of the business, and whether it is already active in Serbia
  • the consent choices you make in the form

Each submission also records the date, the language and the page of the website from which the form was sent. We do not create user accounts and we do not ask for special categories of data, such as health data or political opinions.

Why we use your data

  • to reply to your messages and requests
  • to process your membership application and, if it is accepted, to manage your membership, for example fees and information about the Chamber’s activities
  • to send you updates from the Chamber, only if you have opted in

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

Legal basis

  • your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), for the contact form, the expression of interest and updates
  • steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), for membership applications
  • compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR), for tax and accounting records of membership fees

Where your data is stored and who can access it

The data you submit is stored in the website’s administration system, which only authorised Chamber staff can access. Each submission also sends a notification with the content of the form to the Chamber’s e-mail address. Membership applications are reviewed by the Board of Directors.

To run the website we use processors, namely the website’s hosting provider and the e-mail delivery provider, who process data only on our behalf and on our instructions.

We do not sell, rent or pass your data on to third parties for their own purposes. If a processor is located outside the European Economic Area, data is transferred only with the safeguards required by the GDPR.

How long we keep it

  • Messages and expressions of interest from non-members: up to 24 months after our last contact.
  • Membership applications that are not accepted: up to 24 months after submission.
  • Member data: for as long as the membership lasts and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Consent to updates: until you withdraw it.

When these periods end, the data is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access your data
  • have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
  • have your data erased
  • restrict processing
  • object to processing
  • data portability
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal

To exercise your rights, e-mail info@greekserbian.com. We will reply within one month at the latest.

If you believe that the processing of your data breaches the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
